The TRAINMEN Scholarship is an annual award presented in honor and memory of one of our fallen railroaders. It serves as a tribute to their dedication and the positive impact they had throughout their lives. The scholarship reflects our commitment to excellence, community and honoring legacy by supporting the educational pursuits of deserving individuals of railroad lineage.
Applicants must maintain minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
Applicants must have a documented record of at least 20hrs of community service.
Applicants must be able to establish their RR Lineage to an active or retired employee of
(National Railroad Passenger Company or verifiable Passenger or Non Passenger Carrier).
Applicants must be a *high school senior (Trade School) or higher to be eligible for this scholarship.
Applicants must submit a thoroughly researched and insightful Video Presentationon the topic of
Word Count: 750 - 1,000 or Video Presentation 5Min Duration.
Dress code should be business casual. This is an opportunity not only to compete for a scholarship, but to tell a powerful story, honor a proud history, and reflect on how unity, labor, and leadership on the rails helped shape economic opportunity and dignity for generations.
The scholarship committee will evaluate applications based on academic performance, community service, and essay/video quality. The selected recipient will receive a monetary award to support their pursuit of higher education.
